| TYPE OF EVENT & VENUE |
This is a "Gran Fiesta Latina Social" (Salsa Dura with a touch
of bachata and merengue) held in a very large dance studio with excellent
wooden dance floor, mirror walls, state of the art sound system.
This recently renovated very attractive dance studio is fixed up like a
club with an nearby café serving water, sports
and other beverages, as well as snacks. |

Since
his start here in NYC,
DJ El Maestro
has risen in popularity among New York salseros, DJing in local venues
such as Mambo Fateegz, the Jimmy Anton Social, Club Cache, Club Iguana,
the Santo Rico Social, Rumbamba Saturdays, Karisma Social, the Brooklyn
Salsa Congress in 2009, 2010, 2011 & 2012, the 10th, 11th
& 12th Annual New York Salsa Congress, the Big Apple Salsa
Festival and outside of NY in major venues such as guest DJ at the
Houston Salsa Congress, Connecticut Salsa Fest, the Peru Salsa Congress.
He has his own Salsa Dura Event Salsamania Saturdays every second and fourth
Saturday of the month and also his event Candela Fridays.
Candela
Fridays NYC is a classic New York On 2 salsa, bachata sensual and merengue
alegre social being held in a very attractive midtown dance studio with a
professional wooden ballroom dance floor and a nearby cafe serving refreshments
for relaxing and socializing. There is a separate bachata room. Get your dance on at Candela
Fridays.

Public transportation: The closest subways would be the B, D, F, N,
Q, R, V, W trains to the 34th Street-Penn Station subway station.
There are also busses across 34th Street and up and down 5th Avenue, 6th
Avenue and Broadway.

There is street parking nearby but you will probably have to drive around
looking for a while.

Age 18 to party and 21 to drink. ID required at the bar. No
outside drinks or food.
Discount Parking
Garage Available: The studio is
on 34th Street between 5th & 6th Avenues. There is a parking garage
available at GGMC Parking, 325 5th Avenue, 212-725-4102.
They give a discount to people who come to the DanceSport Studio.
The entrance to the parking garage is on 33rd Street between 5th & Madison
Avenues, and 33rd Street is a one-way street heading west. So when
you come up Madison Avenue, turn left onto 33rd Street.
Parking fee is $10 after 5pm; $20 before 5pm.
Special price does not apply to oversized vehicles (cargo
vans). Remember to have your parking ticket stamped by the
DanceSport staff so that you get this discount.
