DESCRIPTION |
This event is put on every summer by
Joe Burgos,
instructor, performer, Director of the
Piel Canela Dance & Music School,
and Piel Canela Dance Company . It begins with a salsa lesson by
Joe or one of the instructors from his studio, and then there are several
hours of non-stop social dancing. The Pier i of
Riverside Park South is huge and can hold a few
thousand people, and the event is attended by On 2 dancers as well as
dancers from other timings and styles and also the general public.
The setting is right on the Hudson River on a summer evening in
Manhattan....in other words, it's great. All the mambo dancers are
invited to come and enjoy. See
Riverside Park South .

OTHER INFORMATION |
Cancelled in case of rain.
See our
Summer Events Listing Policy. Please Note - Disclaimer: New
York City area summer outdoor salsa events in general are subject to program changes and
occasional cancellations for various reasons (band, DJ, weather, administrative mixups,
etc.), so don't be too surprised if this happens. And the music may
not always be as "pure salsa" as we would like. Also, the dancing
conditions may be less than ideal, for example concrete, grass, dirt,
sand, etc., so bring footwear that prepares you for any surface. I
will state the dancing surface if I know what it is. My information
comes from the most reliable sources I can find. In most cases, the
information turns out to be accurate, but occasionally it is not. It
is the nature of the beast.
