| DESCRIPTION |
Eddie
and Maria Torres have been teaching and performing salsa ON 2 here
in New York City for decades.
Eddie, aka The Mambo King, was the main instructor to popularize this
way of teaching and dancing and making salsa ON 2 be what is called "New
York Style Salsa". He is the most internationally famous
representative of New York style ON 2 dancing. He is the foremost
local authority on our classic salsa music, dance timing and style as well
as the history and evolution of our way of dancing. Dancers from
around the world as well as his many former students come to his classes.
More than 20 years ago,
Eddie created a salsa social that became famous called
"Mambo Magic",
held at the former Club Broadway - See
Video. Later
for many years he held socials at his studio where he taught classes.
Now he again offers his signature salsa social, held in the recently
renovated excellent
Adelante Dance Studio with
professional ballroom dance floor and sound system, with music by the
Mambo King himself, plus an occasional invited guest DJ. The music
is pure classic salsa and cha cha and the dancers are of all levels and have
come for one reason: the pure love of salsa dancing. Everyone is
invited by the very welcoming
