DESCRIPTION |
These are classic On 2 mambo socials held in the fully equipped dance space of the Nieves Latin Dance Studio in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, and in the South Bronx neighborhood of the Bronx, NYC. Wil Nieves is the founder, director, instructor and choreographer for the dance performance teams associated with the studio. He invites all the mambo dancers to come and enjoy their regular weekly Friday social, dancing to mostly classic salsa music plus a bit of bachata and more. The dancers there are friendly and welcoming to newcomers and there are plenty of partners available.

How to get there: By Subway - Take the L train to the Grand Street Station (at Bushwick Avenue), then walk 3 blocks along Grand Street to the studio.
By Car - From Manhattan, take the Williamsburg Bridge, be in the right lane on the Brooklyn side and heading straight off the bridge onto S. 5th Street. Turn left on Havemeyer Street, go 2 blocks and then turn right onto Borinquen Place. Borinquen Place turns into Grand Street, and go to the corner of Manhattan Avenue.
The Bronx Social - Held once per month on the 4th Saturday at the Nieves Latin Dance Studio, 1215 Morris Avenue (near East 168th Street), in the Morrisania-Concourse-South Bronx neighborhood of the Bronx, NY 10456. Studio phone 718-590-9000.
How to get there: By subway - Take the D or B train to the 167th Street Station. Then walk east on E. 167th Street for 4 blocks to Morris Avenue. By Car - Use Google Maps for the route by car.
