SALSA ON 2'SDAYS

DATE OF EVENT Held every Tuesday.  See our Main Calendar for details.
TIME Salsa goes from approximately 9:00 PM to 2:00 AM.  Usually the band plays sets starting at 10:00 and 11:30 PM.  The DJ plays at other times in the evening.

LOCATION

A rooftop salsa party held at the Copacabana, 268 West 47th Street, near 8th Avenue, in the Times Square neighborhood of midtown Manhattan, NYC.

TYPE OF EVENT & VENUE A weekly nightclub event held on the top floor / rooftop of the Copacabana, with stage for bands, dance floor, full bar and professional sound system.
MUSIC Classic and some contemporary "pop" salsa plus a little cha cha, bachata & merengue.
DANCE PERFORMANCES Occasionally.  They would be listed on our Main Calendar.
DJ DJ Rudy "The Power Of Love" Acosta and DJ Alejandro Bouza play a wide range of salsa music.
BAND Weekly bands.  See our Main Calendar for names of bands or see the Facebook Page for this event.
DANCE FLOOR Good size wooden ballroom dance floor which is "medium speed".
PRICES Ladies $5, men $10.
BEVERAGES AND FOOD

All night specials on various beverages.

DRESS CODE Casual or more dressy....it's a nightclub, folks, so look good.

DANCE TIMING

There is a mix of dancers some of whom dance On 2 and others dance a variety of other timings and styles.

DESCRIPTION Held on the top floor / rooftop of the famous Copacabana nightclub located in the Times Square neighborhood of Manhattan.  The event features live bands every week plus DJs playing classic salsa plus a little other Latin music.  The crowd is diverse in terms of dance timing and style.  There is a full bar and pro sound system.

Public transportation:  The closest subways would be the A, C or E trains to the 42nd Street / Port Authority Bus Terminal station, and the C or E trains to the 50th Street station.  A block away would be the #1 train to the 50th Street station.  A couple of blocks away would be the N, Q, R, S, W, 1, 2, 3 & 7 trains to the Times Square / 42nd Street station.

There is street parking nearby but you will probably have to drive around looking for a while and probably will need to park several blocks away.  There are also parking lots and garages for a fee.
