DATE OF EVENT Held on the 4th Friday of each month.
TIME Usually 10:00 PM to 2:00 AM.  From 9:30 - 10:00 PM there is a boogaloo warm-up with an instructor plus music playing.  If there are time changes, they will be noted on our Main Calendar.

LOCATION

This event is held at Club 412 which is part of the You Should Be Dancing Studio, 412 Eighth Avenue (between 30th & 31st Streets), 4th floor, on the west side of midtown Manhattan, near Madison Square Garden.  Dial 007 for to get in the building's front door on street level.

TYPE OF EVENT & VENUE Held at the newly renovated and very charming Club 412 , which is set up like a club with soft lighting, seating, attractive decor, a cash bar and a good DJ sound system.
MUSIC Almost entirely pure classic old school salsa plus a good amount of cha cha.
DANCE PERFORMANCES Very occasionally. They would be listed on our Main Calendar.
DJ DJ Frankie Martinez and occasional guest DJs.
BAND None.
DANCE FLOOR The all-wooden floor ranges from "medium to a bit fast speed".
PRICES Reasonable and typical admission price for a local salsa social.
BEVERAGES AND FOOD There is a regular bar with both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages.  Often there are drink specials, particularly before 11:00 PM.
DRESS CODE Casual.

Almost entirely "New York On 2" timing and style.

DESCRIPTION A night of classic salsa and cha cha dance music played by DJ Frankie Martinez.  This salsa social, hosted by Manny Blackett of the Abakua Latin Dance Company, is presented by instructor and performer Frankie Martinez of Abakua Afro-Latin Dancers, and is held at the newly renovated and very charming Club 412 , which is set up like a club with soft lighting, seating, attractive decor, a real cash bar and a good DJ sound system.   This is an opportunity to dance in an attractive studio setting with lots of dance floor space and a very friendly environment.   There is a very reasonable admission price and beverages will be available for purchase.  The dress code is "casual" and all ages are welcome and invited.

HOW TO GET THERE This event is held at Club 412 which is part of the You Should Be Dancing Studio, 412 Eighth Avenue (between 30th & 31st Streets), 4th floor, on the west side of midtown Manhattan, near Madison Square Garden and Penn Station.  It can be reached by many trains:  A, C, E, 1, 2, 3 and the Long Island Railroad LIRR.  All 7th, 8th and 9th Avenue, and 34th Street crosstown, busses stop at 34th Street.
