Paul & Cathy Calderon

Brief Bio on the Calderons:
Paul Calderon is an Obie Award-winning actor as well as a long-time salsa dancer. He has starred in numerous productions at the Public Theatre and New York Shakespeare Festival, co-starred with Robert DeNiro on Broadway in "Cuba & His Teddy Bear," and has had leading and co-starring roles in dozens of major films.  His theatrical background brings a special spice to his salsa dancing and classes. Along with Cathy, he was one of the original Eddie Torres dancers, dancing at the Apollo Theatre with Tito Puente and Celia Cruz, at Madison Square Garden with El Gran Combo, Cheo Feliciano, Hector Lavoe and at dozens of other venues with many of the legends of Latin music.

Cathy Calderon is a salsa dance teacher and registered yoga teacher. She has a background in dance, theatre and film. She is a great lover of Latin music and dance, and as one of the original Eddie Torres dancers, danced at the Apollo Theatre with Tito Puente and Celia Cruz. She also produced an award-winning documentary film about Latin dance called "A Bailar!" about the early days of the formation of the Eddie Torres dance company, which was shown on PBS and sold to many television networks around the world.

Schedule
Paul & Cathy currently teaches both classes and private one-on-one instruction at this time. Those interested should contact them directly for further information.

  Advance Beginners: 8:00-9:15

• Wednesdays
  Beginners: 7:00-8:15

• Saturdays
  Intermediates: 3:15- 4:30

• Paul & Cathy are available for privates. Rates are $75.00 an hour for one person
